American Farmland Trust
American Farmland Trust (AFT) is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1980 to protect our nation's farmland. AFT works to stop the loss of productive farmland and to promote farming practices that lead to a healthy environment.

Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities (APVA)
Founded in 1889, with the purpose of rescuing Jamestown Island from decay, the APVA began to acquire and preserve properties of all description. Today the APVA maintains 34 historic properties. The APVA relies on its national membership to continue its preservation and research activities.

Blue Ridge Foothills Conservancy
Chartered in 1998, the Blue Ridge Foothills Conservancy is a private, non-profit land trust working primarily in Madison and Greene counties in central Virginia. Our mission is to conserve, through voluntary land protection, the agricultural, scenic, natural, historic, and recreational resources that define the rural character of our communities.

Citizens for Fauquier County
CFFC's mission is to preserve the natural, historic, and agricultural resources of our county, and to protect our county's unique quality of life through education and leadership.

The Conservation Fund
The Fund helps local, state, and federal agencies, and nonprofit organizations acquire property from willing sellers to protect open space and historic places. The Fund works with communities and industry (including forest and chemical companies, developers, and ranchers) to demonstrate sustainable practices that balance economic and environmental goals.

500-Year Forest Foundation
The 500-Year Forest Foundation was formed as a support organization for forest landowners who value the perpetuation and health of the forests on their property. We provide services to forested property owners in return for a commitment to create and maintain healthy, natural woodlands.

Land Trust Alliance
Founded in 1982, the Land Trust Alliance is the national leader of the private land conservation movement, promoting voluntary land conservation across the country and providing resources, leadership, and training to the nation's 1,200-plus nonprofit, grassroots land trusts, helping them to protect important open spaces.

Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy
The Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy is a non-profit group of volunteers based in Loudoun County, Virginia, who share a common goal of protecting and perpetuating natural habitats for the benefit of both people and wildlife.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation
The National Trust for Historic Preservation provides leadership, education, and advocacy to save America's diverse historic places and revitalize our communities.

The Nature Conservancy (VA Chapter)
Working with members and conservation partners, The Nature Conservancy of Virginia has protected more than 235,000 acres of critical natural lands in Virginia.

Northern Virginia Conservation Trust
The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust (NVCT) is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural and historic resources of Northern Virginia. NVCT has been instrumental in the preservation of 630 acres.

Piedmont Environmental Council
The Piedmont Environmental Council is a 30-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the Piedmont's rural economy, natural resources, history, and beauty.

The Potomac Conservancy
The Potomac Conservancy is a regional conservation organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the natural, scenic, recreational, and historic qualities of the Potomac River and its watershed lands.

The Preservation Alliance of Virginia
Through its extensive network of organizations, businesses, and property owners, the Preservation Alliance helps groups and individuals find the information and professional services they need for specific preservation problems and issues.

ProtectLand
ProtectLand exists to build the market for protected land by connecting conservation buyers with conservation sellers and providing information on how land can be protected.

Trust for Public Lands
Founded in 1972, the Trust for Public Land works with landowners, government agencies, and community groups to build livable communities by setting aside open space in the path of growth; conserve land for watershed protection, scenic beauty, and close-to-home recreation; and safeguard the character of communities by preserving historic landmarks and landscapes.

Valley Conservation Council
Founded in 1990, the Council is dedicated to protecting the Shenandoah Valley region's natural, agricultural, and cultural resources through private action and public planning. To date it has helped private landowners complete 37 conservation projects using conservation easements, and agricultural and forest districts to protect over 27,000 acres of farm and forestland.

Virginia Conservation Network
The Virginia Conservation Network (VCN) is devoted to advancing a common, environmentally sound vision for Virginia. Created in 1990, the Network's membership comprises more than 100 groups committed to protecting Virginia's natural resources.

Virginia Department of Historic Resources
The Virginia Department of Historic Resources is the State Historic Preservation Office. Our mission is to foster, encourage, and support the stewardship of Virginia's significant historic, architectural, archaeological, and cultural resources.

Virginia Outdoors Foundation
VOF’s purpose under law is to “promote the preservation of open space lands and to encourage private gifts of money, securities, land or other property to preserve the natural, scenic, historic, open-space and recreational areas of the Commonwealth.” The VOF conservation easement program has grown to 1,114 properties under easement, with over 28,500 acres accepted in the year 2000, and over 22,500 acres accepted in year 2001.

Waterford Foundation, Inc.
The Foundation's continuing mission is to preserve and protect the historic, rural character of the 1,420 acres of the Waterford National Historic Landmark District.

Williamsburg Land Conservancy
The Conservancy's 9,000 members and volunteers are dedicated to preserving the history and beauty of one of Virginia's most important early communities.
